Vaness Mitchell, LMBT NC#8947Owner/Massage TherapistAs a 2004 graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science, I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the complexity of the human body. I also enjoy working with people, and helping those in need, so my career focus has been to find a rewarding profession that would not only make me happy, but others as well. I have spent the last several years working in fitness, healthcare, and rehabilitation settings to develop my knowledge and skills of relaxation techniques and alleviating pain. In each professional clinical setting, I have strived to provide the highest level of customer service, and I now believe that I have found my calling as a licensed massage therapist. As a 2008 graduate of the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage, I understand the significant role massage plays in achieving and maintaining overall balance and well-being. I truly believe in the healing power of massage, and continue to learn more modalities and grow in my expertise. As I have transitioned into my massage career, I have made massage therapy my way of life and I am seeking to become an elite, established company of solid reputation with “A touch of Vaness”.
Company history Established in 2010, A Touch of Vaness is an independent company located in Charlotte, NC. Our mission is to ensure that each client leaves feeling fulfilled, and more aware of the effects of regular massage in their life. We believe in the healing power of massage, and we strive to make you a believer as well! We vow never to stop learning about ways to improve the lives of each of our clients. We intend for each visit to bring you another step closer to your overall well-being and look forward to being a part of your healthy, balanced lifestyle. In short, "We are here for you!"

Swedish Massage $60 (60 min) $80 (90 min) $110 (120 min)Swedish massage encompasses a variety of techniques designed to relax muscles by applying pressure using a number of key strokes. Swedish massage is the most common type of bodywork received today. A Touch of Vaness offers 60, 90 and 120 minute Swedish Massages Deep Tissue $60 (60 min) $80 (90 min) $110 (120 min)Deep Tissue is a more concentrated form of Swedish massage. The focus of deep tissue is to relieve tight, sore muscles and remove adhesions. Deep tissue, is exactly as the name suggests: a longer, deeper stroke into the muscle than for Swedish massage. Deep tissue is best used for those with chronic muscle tightness and minor injuries. Sports Massage/ Neuromuscular $70 (60 min) $100 (90 min)Sports massage is a specialized massage that is typically used before, during, and/or after athletic events. A custom treatment is designed to help the athlete for peak performance, drain away fatigue, reduce swelling, relieve muscle tension, promote flexibility, remove waste and toxins, and prevent injuries. Sports massages are offered in 60, or 90 minute increments. This modality is also available onsite for athletic events. Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is an intense and focused form of massage. The focus of Neuromuscular massage is correcting postural distortions and relieving chronic pain by treating the source of it. NMT treatments are typically done on one muscle or muscle group per session in order to effectively treat the area. This form of therapy is ideal for those with chronic muscle pain, injuries, scar tissue, and postural issues. It is important to note that Neuromuscular Therapy is NOT the same as deep tissue. Clients who receive NMT can expect discomfort during their treatment, and may experience some sorness from 1-3 days following their session.
Chair Massage $1/min (5 or 10-min minimum may apply)Chair massage is a short five to 30 minute massage, done through the clothing in a public setting. The focus is typically on key tension areas in the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. Chair massage is ideal for health fairs and to help gain publicity for your business or event. Contact us to perform chair massages at your next corporate, retail, athletic, or other special event. Aromatherapy$5 (in addition to massage service) Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Aromatherapy can be combined with any of our other services to enhance your therapeutic experience.

1. Where are you located? A Touch of Vaness is a mobile practice. I provide healing touch where you need it most... in the comfort of your own home, or event. My practice is available for outcalls and onsite massage at sports, corporate and social events only. There is no physical location at this time.2. What should I expect at my first visit? Your initial visit will begin with a consultation where I will discuss your indivual needs. I will arrive at our pre-determined location 20-30 minutes early to allow plenty of time to assess the space and setup my equipment while you fill out the necessary paperwork. After your consultation, I will then leave the room while you disrobe to your level of comfort and cover yourself with the sheets and warm blanket provided. When you are settled, I will return and your massage will begin. Your privacy and modesty are my concern at all times, and you will remain draped throughout your massage. I will uncover only the area being worked at that time. I will also ask about your comfort level throughout your massage, but please feel free to let me know how you feel at any time! At the end of your visit, you will be presented with a custom treatment plan, with the option to book your next appointment. 3. What methods of payment do you accept? A Touch of Vaness will gladly accept cash, checks, and debit/credit cards that bear the Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logos.There will be a $25.00 service charge for any returned checks.4. Do you offer special discounts? Yes! Please "Like" us on facebook, & follow us on Twitter for access to all special discounts and promotions as they become available.
